Bretton Woods Adaptive Sports & Recreation is a group of volunteers that come from all over New England  to provide people with extra special needs a chance to experience the outdoors. 

Our Mission Statement: Bretton Woods Adaptive, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to provide instruction to enable persons with physical or developmental challenges to participate in recreational sports. Bretton Woods Adaptive strives to foster independence and to maximize abilities so that each participant reaches his/her potential as an athlete in their chosen sport.

Conveniently located on the base level of the Mountain Lodge at The Omni Mount Washington Resort at Bretton Woods, Bretton Woods Adaptive Sports & Recreation serves the whole family making it possible for everyone to enjoy the thrills and delights of the outdoors. You’ll find people here with great compassion, who are full of laughter, and very enthusiastic about making your experience truly memorable.

BWAS&R is able to accommodate people with a various disabilities including, but not limited to, spinal cord injury, post polio, amputation, Down's Syndrome,TBI,PTSD, autism, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and hearing or visual impairment. We use a variety of techniques and equipment to meet the diverse needs of adaptive sports enthusiasts.

Our staff of well-trained and experienced volunteers supports all adaptive recreational sports and activities.  Some of our volunteers, with disabilities themselves, know first-hand the challenges and triumphs faced by participants and their families. 

BWAS&R is a chapter of Disabled Sports/USA and a founding partner with New England Disabled Sports (NEDS) at Loon and AbilityPLUS at Waterville Valley in the Northeast Adaptive Sports Coalition (NEASC) to provide additional recreational offerings.

The Omni Mount Washington Resort and the White Mountain region are home to an abundant and beautiful supply of recreational opportunities and possibilities. Alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoe treks are among our popular winter sports.
